New England Vacation and Fall Fun

We took our first real vacation as a family up to the New England area. We stopped in Newport, RI where my brother Jim is currently attending War College then went to Boston for a few days and Mystic, CT for a night. We finished up our vacation at Mam's house in New Jersey for a delecious 3rd Anniversary dinner of ribs, corn, and rolls. Noah did very well. He learned quickly that if he cried we would bring him into bed as to not disturb the other guests which wasn't too bad until the last night when he rolled and rolled and rolled for hours and none of us got much sleep. Enjoy our pictures!

We have also been going to some farms for fall fun. We went to Weber's farm which is very close to us and I never realized it before. Noah had fun on his first hayride and pushing around some tractors and mommy nearly had a heart attack going down the big slide with Noah. We also went to Baugher's farm out in westminster. We did some applepicking and are now enjoying lots of applesauce! We didn't have as much time out there as we would have liked, but hope to go back next year - I think Noah will have an even better time then!

Happy First Birthday!!

Noah's First Birthday was tons of fun! Although, the weather could have been nicer - it was cold and drizzling - Noah didn't mind one bit. He loves to be outside so he couldn't have been happier that he was allowed outside to wander as he pleased for hours.

We had lots and lots of family and friends over to help us celebrate and we thank each and everyone for making Noah's first birthday so special. Noah ate up lots of fruit and then got his first crack at some sweets. He liked the cool whip frosting, but didn't try to eat the actual cake. I guess thats a good thing! Noah was treated very well and got lots of presents. He especially loves his tricycle that mom-mom and pop-pop Jim got him. It took Mommy and Daddy a few days to recoperate and clean-up, but it was so worth it.

On Noah's actual birthday, we met up with the Fabiszak family to celbrate Granny and Pop-Pop's 40th Wedding Anniversary! Afterwards we went up to the local fair and Noah got a balloon and lots of compliments on his new ride. Then we headed back over to Granny and Pop--Pop's for a second chance on the cake. At least the second time around he made more of a mess, but still didn't care too much for the sweets - he sure doesn't take after his mommy in that department!

Almost One!

I can't believe we are a week away from Noah's first birthday. It seems like so long ago since he was a tiny newborn just home from the hospital crying often and never wanting to sleep and we were wondering what did we get ourselves into? How far we've come since those first few days and how I thought to myself I can't wait till he's a little older and now he is almost one and I think to myself - stop growing up so fast! It is absolutely amazing to watch how much a baby grows in this first year. He continues to amaze us all the time at how quickly he learns new things.

Noah now has 6 teeth! 3 on the bottom and 3 on top with 2 more about to break through up top. He loves to use them to eat! His favorite food is fruit especially watermelon. Noah had spaghetti with sauce recently for the first time and loved it - we got a few pictures, but it wasn't as messy as I thought it was going to be. We'll make sure to post plenty of pictures of Noah's big day!

We have a walker!

It seems I can't keep up with all the new things Noah does fast enough! We officially have a walker in the house. He has been taking a few steps here and there for about the past 3 weeks. But, last wednesday he decided that when he fell down, to get back up and try again rather then crawl like he was doing. Now he walks almost all the time - but he still looks like he's had a few too many and tumbles over after a few minutes. We think he really got the hang of walking when we went down to my parents place in Delaware and he used a golf club to walk around the kitchen over and over again.

We had a great time in Delaware and went back to Ocean City and Rehoboth. Noah got on the caraousel and the helicopter with mommy. He really liked the caraousel and was kicking his legs in protest each time we got him off.

Noah has his two top teeth now, and we think there are some more coming in - we'll just wait and see. He still loves the word da-da and only says ma-ma when he's crying a lot. He absolutely loves his dog Chance and goes over to him to give him hugs all the time and Chance is very good and lets Noah climb all over him.

I can't believe Noah's first birthday is fast approaching. Mommy is busy planning and getting everything we need for Noah's big day.

Exploiting my child for free food at Chick-Fil-A - but isn't he the cutest cow!

So Many Firsts!

Noah continues to amaze us every day with the new things he is learning. He has two bottom teeth with two coming in up top. He learned how to clap this week and does it at random times and usually when you sing "if you're happy and you know it clap your hands." He has been pulling himself up to stand and sometimes letting go for a few weeks now, but has really been getting brave in the past week... pulling up on anything and everything including the dog! With the help of his Pop-Pop and a push car he walked back and forth across the living room at his grandparents on 4th of July. He started to say da-da on Father's Day (the best gift a boy could give his daddy!). We gave Noah his first haircut on July 2nd (which to me makes him look older already) and Noah got in the pool for the very first time on July 3rd. He was a natural kicking his legs right away!

Noah's California cousins came to visit for the first time (3 of the 5) on June 18th. We had lots of fun and went lots of places while they were in town. Noah took his first trip to Ocean City, Maryland and put his feet in the sand for the first time. We also went to Rehoboth Beach and Noah got on his first ride - boats - which he enjoyed a lot before they began moving and tolerated once they started. We also took Noah to the zoo for the first time with Uncle Jeff, Abby and Emma - it was a hot one, but he seemed fascinated by the animals.

Every day I remark on how quickly he is growing up and how well he picks up on things now. I keep telling him to stop growing up so fast, but he just isn't listening! He is such a good, happy baby and we are loving every moment! There are a lot of new photos and videos which hopefully I'll post here too.

Noah Crawls!

On May 21st, Noah learned how to crawl! Daddy used the laser pointer we use to exercise the dog to lure Noah and it worked!

8 Months Old - Already!!!

Yes, Noah is growing up way too fast! He turned 8 months on May 13th and had chicken for the first time. He loved it! Noah can scoot himself backwards and get around pretty well, but still isn't doing any real crawling.

My first official Mother's Day was very nice. We had a yummy breakfast at my parents and I had a football game (which we didn't win - bummer) then we headed to my Aunt's for dinner. I received some beautiful cards and a Willow Tree figure. Since Daddy's foot is hurt and couldn't perform the proper pampering we are going to have another mother's day sometime down the road :o)

I keep telling Noah to stop growing up so fast, but he just isn't listening! Enjoy the latest photos...

First Tooth!

Noah cut his first tooth on Tuesday the 28th. He had been a bit fussy the week prior and I was actually hoping to see a tooth, so I would know that was the reason behind the fussiness. He's using that new tooth to eat cheerios - but still doesn't grasp the concept of picking them up and putting them in his mouth. We're going to have to work on him becoming just a tiny bit more independent.

Noah is still close to crawling. He has managed to scoot himself backwards twice now.

We have been enjoying going to the park on the nice days and he loves the swings! We also like to go to storytime and have playdates with Noah's friends. Most of the time these activities make him tired and he takes a good 1 - 2 hour nap which makes mommy very happy :o)

Our boy is quite the ham... he now turns towards me and smiles when I pull out the camera... enjoy the many pictures

Easter

We enjoyed Noah's first Easter in New Jersey with the Tumminia side of the family. We were able to spend a lot of time on friday with Noah's cousins Ryan and Justin. On Easter we had a yummy dinner at Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop Jim's house with the whole family! Noah did great this year with the Easter Bunny (I fear next year won't be such smooth sailing).

There are also some pictures of Noah on Opening Day cheering the O's to victory (from our living room) - he loves to swing that bat!
Noah has begun to sleep through the night (YAY!!!) I know it most likely won't last, but I'll enjoy it as long as I can. He has liked all the foods we have introduced to him, but he hasn't figured out how to feed himself yet.
He doesn't have much interest in crawling as he still hates being on his tummy. But, he gets in the crawling position and looks like he wants to go and then takes a face plant on to the floor! He can almost pull himself up to a standing position and loves to stand up while holding on to something. Maybe he'll just skip the crawling and go straight to walking (then i'll be in trouble!)

Our JCPenney Pictures and an Update

At Noah's 6 month appointment he weighed in at 18lbs 8ozs and was 24 1/4 inches long. Now that he is more active he isn't gaining weight as fast. He did very well getting his shots, crying for only 30 seconds or so. Also, we realized that Noah's tear duct popped open - yay for not having to get surgery!!

We got some professional photos taken of Noah and the entire family (minus Chance)
Noah is such a happy baby most of the time. He has a laugh that will melt all your cares away and I love making him laugh as much as possible! He thinks his mommy and doggy are the funniest with daddy close behind!

First Food - Carrots!

Noah had his first real food 2 days after his 6 month birthday. He liked carrots ok, but liked his second food - peas much better!

6 Months Old!

Noah is growing so fast! He sits up so well by himself and he loves to jump up and down when you hold him. He had his 6 month birthday on Friday the 13th. He has been enjoying rice cereal and oatmeal for about 2 weeks now and on Sunday the 15th had his first veggie - carrots! He made a interesting face at first taste, but seems to be liking them so far.

Noah seems to have found his voice since he turned 6 months and is talking up a storm (in his own language) he also has been doing better about skipping his night feeding!

On the 14th we had a surprise 60th Birthday Party for Noah's Granny. She was very surprised! Noah goes for his 6 month checkup on Wednesday, so we'll see how big he has gotten since last month.

You can't help but laugh right along with him. One of these days I'll catch him really cracking up, but until then these will have to do!

5 Months Old

Noah turned 5 months old on Friday the 13th! In the past month he has really mastered sitting up, he is now rolling over, and he even said uh-oh! The next day we celebrated our first Valentine's as a family at a birthday party for Noah's Great-Grandpop. Valentine's Day is also his cousin Abby's birthday. Happy 7th Birthday Abigail! Noah was a bit fussy on Vday he may be starting to teeth or he might just have been cranky since no teeth are showing. The next day Noah spent sometime with Granny and Pop-Pop while Mommy and Daddy went to dinner.

Pictures!

Here are a few pictures over the past month. We watched the first quarter of the Superbowl at Uncle Jeff and Susan's where Noah got to play with Susan's sisters baby's Luke and Ben. The following Sunday we went to Noah's Great-Grandmother's 90th Birthday Party where he was able to meet his Great -Great-Aunt Dorothy for the first time and see his cousins again.

I keep saying Noah is going to be a brute/little terror because he loves to bang things on the floor and beat himself up! Since he is growing so fast I had to hurry and get him in his 3 - 6 month clothing one last time which included the adorable overalls that I love - we'll have to get a new pair for the fall!

Noah Rolls Over

Noah is growing so fast! He weighed in at 18lbs on February 3rd. The next day he repeated Daddy saying uh-oh which we captured on our video camera - so cute! On Monday the 9th Noah rolled over for the very first time and I finally managed to get it on camera a few days later.

A New Site

Inspired by our friends Amy and Jamie's website we decided to try out a new site where we could also add video. So, to catch everybody up to the present day - we welcomed Noah David into the world on September 13, 2008 at 11:56 AM. He weighed in at 8 lbs 13 ozs and was 22 inches long. He was welcomed home by his big "brother" our dog Chance who we adopted from Adopt a Boxer Rescue Foundation one year earlier. The two of them keep us constantly entertained. We have had an exciting, ever changing, sometimes challenging but always wonderful 5 months with Noah. I am posting some of the best photos over the past 5 months and hope to keep this updated on a regular basis here on out.
